Two great sessions, one not so great.

Was at the taj thursday and friday. Thursday, sat down at 1/2nl around noon with $250, left around 6PM with $1600. Went out all night, gave some money back in the form of a big dinner, cabs, tips, two massages, and a little casino play. Went to bed around 2AM, woke up at 7AM, and went back down. Again bought in with $250 and brought it up to $800. Went for another massage in the afternoon, and then went back to the tables one more time. The final time, bought in for $250, got to about $400, and then started getting called with sick draws. A big chaser calling with J 6 spades on an all rag flop with two spades.. he bet $10 on the flop, I raised him to $35 with AA, he called. Turn came an Ace. I made it $125. He CALLED! River comes a low spade. He moves all in for his last $55. Sick fuck, calling $160 to catch a spade.

So, it happens. I put another $150 on the table, flop top two. Raise... guess who's calling. He now calls only $100 to catch ONE out on the river. Naturally the river card looks like a blank, but it makes his set... I put him all in on the river, he calls. Boom - out $400. He's sitting there giggling like a retard as if he made the play of the year.

All in all, it was a profitable trip, but only for my poker bankroll, not for my personal account. Up $300 in the bankroll after lots of spending. Really thought about it and next time I don't want to spend nearly as much - going to go with the intent of saving; keeping food and entertainment costs down. Had I not spent on entertainment and such, even with the losing session it would have been a +$800 visit.

Oh well.

I do though agree that I prefer play during the week. It seems all the chasers show up on the weekends. I saw it last weekend, and this. Lots of first time players that like to either move all in pre-flop, move all in on any flop, or say stupid things like "Wanna run it twice?" Brilliant.
